LocationThe World Trade Centre (WTC) is located in the centre of Rotterdam, next to the city hall. It is easily accessed by train from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol or by bus from Rotterdam Airport Zestienhoven. Being one of the buildings surviving the WWII bombing, the Shipping Hall, where GAS 2009 took place, is a perfect combination of old iron époque and modern architecture.
About RotterdamRotterdam is the largest European port and second largest port of the world in terms of bulk goods distribution. It is surrounded by petrochemical industry and refineries in the so-called Europoort area. It is connected via pipelines and waterways with the whole of Europe. Several industrial storages are located in the harbour, from petrol to pesticides and from cereals to clothes. Expansion on the harbour area including LNG terminals is planned. So, Rotterdam is an area with extensive use of gas analysis in all forms: natural gas, air pollution, shipping containers and food storage.
